LIVE BLOG : Cyclone Burevi to make landfall in Sri Lanka’s Eastern Coast
Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath visited multiple areas which could be affected by cyclone Burevi, on Wednesday (02).
According to Department of Government Information the plan in place to evacuate people to safe locations was looked into during the visit to the Trincomalee North Beach Road, Sirimapura and Thirukkadalur.
Condition of Rain: Intermittent showers or thundershowers will occur in the deep and shallow sea areas
extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Mannar, Kankasanthurai,
Trincomalee and Batticaloa.Very heavy showers can be expected some
places in the above sea areas. Showers will occur at times elsewhere.
State of Sea:The sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanthurai and
Trincomalee can be very rough or high at times.The other sea areas can
be rough or very rough at times. There is a possibility that nearshore
sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai and in Pooneryn to Puttalam may experience surges due to the effect of
swell waves, having (2.0-3.0) m height.
